Elder Abuse

All states have laws regarding elder abuse. Elder abuse and neglect includes physical, emotional, sexual and financial.

Many people hesitate reporting suspected abuse for fear that they are mistaken. It is the responsibility of the state’s Adult Protective Services to investigate and make sure that someone is really being abused before filing charges.

Some signs of abuse/neglect are:
Unexplained bruises or burns.
Witnessed verbal abuse.
Missing money and/or valuables.
Display of fear by elder of another person.
